Nikki comes from Ohio with a unique story to tell. With a twenty year background in food service, Nikki made the switch to pursing her passion for nursing at St. Catherine University. While at St. Catherine University, she was provided the opportunity to learn about holistic health and how that applies to clinical practice in nursing. Graduating in 2022, she is proud to share her passion by crafting a space to permit holistic nursing daily at the bedside and showing others how to implement different strategies to provide a mind, body, spirit, and emotional approach to care.
While in her previous career, Nikki was able to work with multiple organizations to help raise awareness for Teen Challenge, Hope for Youth Autism Speaks, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, and Children’s Hunger Alliance. Participating and encouraging teams of people to be more involved with their community, she has welcomed and embraced partnerships who allow her to grow personally and professionally.
Nikki joined the Minnesota Holistic Nursing Association and the American Holistic Nursing Association as a student in 2022 and is excited about continuing and expanding her knowledge as a member of the council. She’s incredibly honored to work alongside peers who have a love for expanding how to utilize holistic care for people not only in the nursing profession but in their daily lives.
Nikki was born in Columbus, Ohio where she cheered on her beloved Buckeyes and is happy to continue her passion for football and all things Ohio while exploring her wings in Minnesota. She has earned a B.S in Psychology from Otterbein University (2002) and an M.Ed from Ohio University (2009) where her master’s in research directly related to utilizing Yoga in a Special Education classroom to help increase attention.
